Ante-natal depression is just as common as post-natal

A new study by researchers at Trinity College has shown that ante-natal depression is just as common as post-natal depression.It can have a knock-on effect and lead to other issues such as pre-eclampsia and an increased need for a caesarean section. The joint report with the Irish Obstetrics Service is aiming to raise awareness of the condition, both among the general public and among medical practitioners.
